In the cosmetics industry, natural-origin ingredients are increasingly recognized as the new frontier of innovation. Among the key components of cosmetic formulations are lipids, emulsifiers, rheology modifiers, preservatives, colorants, and antioxidants. These substances play a fundamental role in forming emulsions, one of the most common and essential structures in cosmetic products. A crucial aspect of emulsion-based formulations is the assessment of their stability over time, as well as the method used to produce them. This study compares two different emulsion production techniques: the Standard method and the more recent “One-Pot” method.
The comparison focuses on the characterization of ABWAX® Revomul, a multifunctional wax designed for cosmetic applications. This ingredient combines a low-melting structuring wax of vegetal origin (Rhus wax) with a natural emulsifier (Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate).
ABWAX® Revomul has shown excellent performance in stabilizing water-in-oil emulsions, making it a valuable option for innovative and sustainable cosmetic formulations.
