Hyaluronic acid (HA), is widely used both as a dietary supplement and as a cosmetic ingredient, to reduce wrinkles, improve skin properties, treat osteoarthritis, and promote wound and mucosal healing. In the body, HA is one of the main components of connective tissues, skin, and joints and occurs in the form of different molecular weights. In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that, different molecular weights, exhibit different behaviors and physiological effects in terms of bioavailability, antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory activity, and stability to hyaluronidases.
