THE PROJECT
The exploitation of organic materials, primarily understood as by-products/co-products of agri-food chains and vegetable waste, is a fundamental target of research in the field of eco-compatible sciences. VALO.RE.BIO is a project that aims to apply circular economy models, such as biorefineries integrated with local agricultural supply chains, capable of recovering and adding high value to the ingredients contained in production by-products. The project idea stems from the need to combine innovative technologies for the production of functional ingredients for various markets (cosmetics, medical devices, nutraceuticals and food) with the development of digital processes that can “intelligently” implement production processes, as well as allowing them to be monitored accurately.
