Hair loss and reduced hair quality are common concerns in both men and women, often linked to Telogen Effluvium (TE), a form of non-scarring alopecia characterized by diffuse, acute shedding.
A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated the efficacy of Beaulixir®, an innovative dietary supplement containing plant-derived oils and phytosterols, in individuals with acute TE (onset <6 months). The study involved 72 healthy Caucasian and Asian men and women aged 18–65. Participants received either 400 mg/day or 600 mg/day of Beaulixir® or a placebo for 84 days.
The results showed that Beaulixir®:
- Significantly increased total hair density (up to +11.1%) and hair thickness.
- Increased the proportion of anagen hairs while reducing telogen hairs.
- Improved hair brightness and elasticity, especially in Caucasian subjects.
- Was well tolerated, with no serious adverse events, and was positively rated by participants.
Beaulixir® offers a safe and effective nutritional approach to support hair quality and reduce shedding in individuals with acute TE.
